Fun at the Strawberry Tea!

Last Sunday, saw our annual Strawberry Tea event taking place in the lovely warm sunshine. Hosted by the Friends of Marrick Priory, a great afternoon was spent, drinking tea, eating strawberries and home baked scones, listening to Reeth Brass Band playing and to the more fearless amongst us, climbing the Jacobs ladder and taking a leap of faith! All proceeds from the tea go towards our bursary fund enabling children and young people from families experiencing financial hardship to enjoy a residential with us. Thanks to everyone who came along and contributed to the success of the event.  A fantastic £423 was raised from the day

Join us on Friday 22nd July!

On Friday 22nd July, we are hosting a cream tea between 2pm and 4pm at the Priory – plants and home made cakes will be on sale. So come along and find out more about the Priory’s history and development – See you there!

Welcome back Highfield Primary!

Highfield Primary from Leeds are regular visitors to the Priory. As the group leader says “Reasons we come – we love the location, the great activities you offer from the high ropes course, canoeing to abseiling, and the fact our children get the experience of living together in a community – wouldn’t go anywhere else!”

Hunslet Initiative enjoy their weekend!

This weekend, a group of young people from Leeds came to the Priory for the very first time! Having heard about us from someone who had been before, they wanted to see what it was all about for themselves. Taking part in lots of activities such as climbing, the low ropes, archery, the zip wire and the high ropes course, and with comments such as  ”liked the archery best”, “the climbing was awesome”, “the ropes course was brill” – you can see they had a great time. “We hope to be back soon” was their parting shout!
